Estimation of Tsunami Inundation

SHINYEI-OYO helps settings on estimated tsunami inundation.

The epoch-making tsunami of 3.11 suggested necessity of re-examination of existing estimations. Government of Japan published a new worst-scenario-model of triggering active faults and OYO has been revising the estimations to define and publish potential inundation areas and to designate special warning zones for the new scenario.

Wave sources in the new scenario are analyzed to generate more destructive tsunamis at some coastal areas, compared with previous estimations.

OYO contracted two major revising projects of Nankai Trough and Tokyo Bay epi-central earthquake. OYO did not just revise the estimation of tsunamis in the project but also coordinated various stakeholders in Pacific prefectures and configured reporting materials.

OYO is supporting tsunami estimation on the Sea of Japan coast based on its rich experience in the Pacific coast.
