Moizari River, located in Eniwa City, Hokkaido, remains as it was a long time ago. To tell the truth, this river was once covered with concrete and flowed in a straight line. After this, OYO redesigned its waterside and revitalize the river environment. In this project, OYO adopted various malti-natural type construction method, such as a waterway that was restored to the original, footpaths paved with chip material that pedestrians can feel comfortable, and a river wall using natural rocks. Thanks to those efforts, OYO was awarded by Japan Society of Civil Engineers in 2006.
These projects are targeting to recover robust marsh ecosystems by restoring the deteriorated environmental condition with
preserving healthy environment remained in the riverfront. SHINYEI-OYO is in charge of examination into hydrologic cycle and marsh restroration.
